Microsoft Copilot for SMBs is ready for take-off

Over the past year, businesses have begun to see the benefits that AI can bring to their productivity, creativity and workflows. Though so far, AI hasn’t quite made the ripple in the world of essential business technology that many have been anticipating, until now…

This week, we bring the exciting news that Microsoft Copilot is now available to all businesses in the UK. In November 2023, Copilot was launched exclusively to the enterprise market. Today, all the assistive AI features that will change the way we work forever are available to businesses of all sizes in the UK.

Microsoft Copilot integrates with your suite of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams to revolutionise the way we work. Copilot learns the way you and your business operate and offers tools and features to speed up workflows, bring ideas to life, keep projects moving forwards, increasing your workforce productivity.

We also celebrate the launch of an entirely new feature: Business chat. Business chat references data across the LLM (Large Language Model), a database of public information, and private data unique to your business to respond to prompts and questions to achieve certain goals.

For example, you could ask Business Chat ‘what progress was made this week’ on a specific project. Copilot references your entire Microsoft Graph, whilst respecting the requester’s access and permissions, and returns emails, messages and files specific to the request in one location. This saves you time rounding up everything manually across multiple applications. Business chat integrates directly with Microsoft Teams and offers chat functionality for users to have conversations with their AI companion.

Satya Nadella, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft said:“Today marks the next major step in the evolution of how we interact with computing, which will fundamentally change the way we work and unlock a new wave of productivity growth”.

Laurence Glen, IT Director of Focus Group said:"Focus Group are very excited to see where the deployment of Microsoft Copilot takes us, as I truly believe that this will completely transform business working practices. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more information about Microsoft Copilot, including its powerful capabilities, how your business could start using it and how it is licensed."
