In September 2022, Neil Laughton - a talented entrepreneur and adventurer – took on the challenge of a 7,426m mountain climb in Nepal. Adding further complexity to the expedition, Neil strapped a titanium mountain bike to his back, in hope of securing a new Guiness World Record!
The challenge was launched in a bid to raise much needed funds and support for the Tenzing Norgay School - a high-altitude school, located close to the expedition route in Nepal.
In support of this incredible adventure, Focus Group donated several laptops to enable students at this remote school to benefit from internet connectivity and - in turn - valuable access to online learning opportunities.
Adverse weather conditions unfortunately prohibited the completion of the team’s full expedition. However, the funds raised as a result of the mission meant Neil was able to make a vital contribution to the installation of solar-fuelled lights at the mountain-based school. Furthermore, the weather didn’t stop him from delivering the laptops.
Whilst on the mountain, Neil was also tasked with putting our Digital Workplace solution to the test – reviewing connection, capability, access and security from the height of over 7,000m above sea level.
It’s safe to say that Digital Workplace, powered by Focus Group, passed the test!
