The Challenge

Haven House Children’s Hospice were looking to simplify their contracts and invoicing. They had multiple energy supply contracts in place, with varying term end dates and weren’t convinced they were on the right tariffs. Time is valuable to the team at Haven House and with their commitment to pouring all their energies into caring for children and young people, felt it would be too complicated and time-consuming to resolve without support.

The Solution

Focus Group is a HQP Partner and as such, the team at Haven House felt reassured they were dealing with a trusted supplier, knowing all the due diligence and checks had already been completed by HQP’s procurement experts.

The team of energy experts at Focus Group took the time to get to know Haven House, its current usage levels and costs whilst also working through its range of existing supplier contracts. As an independent provider of energy services, Focus Group worked with over 20 of the UK’s key suppliers to review all options and provide Haven House with impartial advice and the best suppliers, on the most cost-effective tariffs.

Focus Group then worked to move Haven House onto new contracts with a common end date, migrated the services and delivered significant cost savings.

The Results

As a result of working with the Energy team at Focus Group, all the contracts have been brought in line, with one common end date and Haven House have benefited from a cost reduction of 21% on their gas expenditure. This has provided them with a saving in excess of £6,900 across the term. Furthermore, Focus Group were able to secure further reductions on its electricity supplies, even when put to the test against very competitive historical pricing.

As part of the ongoing account management, the team at Focus Group have been able to review various billing issues, check Haven House are paying the correct level of VAT and continually review services and tariffs to avoid costs being any higher than absolutely necessary.
